About Sarvasakshi Dasa

A journey of devotion, service, and surrender to Lord Krishna.

Early Life & Background

Sriman Sarvasakshi Das was born in a small village near Pune, Maharashtra. Raised in a rural environment, he was studious by nature since childhood. After completing his early education, he moved to the city of Pune, where he began pursuing higher studies. He used to read many books and also wrote articles, but he never felt truly satisfied by that knowledge.

One day he happened to hear someone remark that a human life is no better than the life of a donkey if one has not studied the Bhagavad-gītā. These words struck his heart very deeply. At the same time, profound spiritual questions began to awaken within his heart: "Who am I? Am I merely this temporary body, or something more?" “What is the true purpose of life?” “Who is God, and how can He be understood and realized?”

These questions intensified day by day, stirring a deep restlessness within his soul. Feeling that ordinary education could not satisfy these inquiries, he became determined to seek genuine spiritual knowledge.

Discovery of Bhagavad-Gītā

By great fortune, he one day came across a very old, coverless Marathi edition of Bhagavad-gītā Jashī Āhe Tashī (“As It Is”), presented by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. Although the book appeared externally worn and neglected, its contents were spiritually potent.

As soon as he began to turn its pages and read the purports, he experienced a profound transformation within his heart. Śrīla Prabhupāda’s clear presentation of the Absolute Truth, his uncompromising philosophical conclusions, and his deeply devotional mood penetrated his intelligence and touched his soul. He understood that this was not an ordinary book — it was a direct call to spiritual awakening. For the first time, the essential questions of life were being answered in a systematic and authoritative manner.

Inspired by this awakening, he began searching for the devotees and the temple of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Pune.

Joining ISKCON

When he finally came in contact with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness at the Pune temple, it was as if his life had found its true course. He spent his first day with the devotees, and from the very next day he began chanting sixteen rounds. In the association of devotees, through attentive hearing and chanting of the holy name, and by following the regulative principles of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, he steadily began to advance spiritually.

Only six months had passed since he had begun this path of devotional life when, by providence, he met His Holiness Gopāl Kṛṣṇa Goswāmī Mahārāja in Pune. This meeting became a decisive turning point. With sincerity and conviction, he expressed his heartfelt desire to dedicate his entire life to the service of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s movement. Mahārāja affectionately instructed him, “You can come to Delhi and begin a full-time life in the temple.”

Then, in the beginning of 1999, at the young age of just 21, he arrived directly at the ISKCON temple in Delhi and began his full-time brahmacārī life.

Initiation & Discipleship

In the year 2000, within the Gauḍīya tradition of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he received his first initiation from Śrīla Gopāl Kṛṣṇa Goswāmī Mahārāja, and in 2001, he accepted his second initiation as well. Thus, his life was no longer his own — it became fully surrendered at the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Śrī Guru.

Under the divine guidance of his spiritual master, he developed a deep understanding of Vaishnava philosophy and devotional service. Mahārāja’s firm dedication to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission and his compassionate instructions inspired within him a deep spirit of surrender.

Service at ISKCON Delhi & Faridabad

At the Śrī Śrī Rādhā Pārtha-sārathi Mandir in New Delhi, he initiated a systematic training program for new devotees under his leadership. Even today, many trained devotees continue to serve with deep dedication. Alongside this, he also led the saṅkīrtana (book distribution) department and undertook various preaching initiatives.

After serving in ISKCON Delhi, he moved to ISKCON Faridabad, where he continued his literary and preaching services for nearly ten years. By the instruction and blessings of Śrīla Gopāl Kṛṣṇa Mahārāja, he now resides in the divine land of Śrī Vṛndāvana-dhāma — the eternal abode of Kṛṣṇa-bhakti — from where his pen flows without hindrance.

Literary Mission

In the year 2003, his first book “Divine Instruction” was published by the mercy and inspiration of his spiritual master. After that, he never looked back. Whenever he met his revered Gurudeva, Mahārāja would compassionately instruct him to “print new titles,” and these words became the very aim and guiding purpose of his life.

He not only composed original works but also began translating the profound writings of previous ācāryas into Hindi, making deep and esoteric scriptures easily accessible to Hindi-speaking devotees. He does not merely present scriptural facts — he assimilates them deeply within his heart and presents them in such a way that the reader does not simply read, but experiences them.

Till now, he has presented more than 75 books in both Hindi and English to the Vaiṣṇava community. Some of his prominent works include:

  • Prārthanā, Gītāmālā, Gītāvalī, Śaraṇāgati
  • Vaiṣṇava Padāvalī & Vaiṣṇava Gīta
  • Tulsi Mahimāmṛta & Bhāgavata Mahimāmṛta
  • Śrī Jagannātha Purī & Haridāsavarya Śrī Govardhana
  • Śrī Harināma Cintāmaṇi & Śrī Caitanya Maṅgala

  • Ānanda-Vṛndāvana Campū & Śrī Padyāvalī
  • Manaḥ-śikṣā, Bhaktyālok, Japa Yajña & many more
Pilgrimages & Preaching

He has also led Vaiṣṇava pilgrimages to many holy places across India, spiritually connecting hundreds of devotees with the divine pastimes of the Lord, sacred dhāmas, and the inspiring lives of great devotees.

He is especially renowned for his heartfelt discourses, in which he presents scriptural wisdom with clarity and simplicity, awakening both devotion and a deeper vision of life in the hearts of his listeners. His style, though simple, is rich with emotion and depth — touching the hearts of both listeners and readers at their very core.

Through his teachings, books, and selfless literary service, he has earned a special and revered place in the hearts of devotees. His literary contribution is a precious heritage for the entire Vaiṣṇava community.

“The purpose of human life is to awaken our dormant love for Krishna. Every page we write, every word we speak, should serve this supreme goal.”
